Mrs. O’Brien’s 5 Day Class
It’s hard to believe that September has gone by since
we’ve been back at school!
We’ve already had our first trip on the big yellow school
bus to pick juicy apples at Eastmont Orchards, AND learned
the letter “A” and the number “0”!
As the days grow shorter and the weather becomes cooler
we move into October, a busy month in preschool.
On Thursday, October 4th we will be celebrating St. Francis Day.
You may have your child bring their favorite stuffed animal to
class to be blessed.
Friday, October 5th is Picture Day for our class. You will be
receiving proofs in a few weeks and then have the option of
ordering prints- no money needed on Picture Day!
This month we will be talking about fire safety as October is Fire
Prevention Month . We will be practicing a fire drill in school and also discussing an escape plan at home . We hope this experience will insure that your child knows what to do in case of a fire.
Our Halloween celebration will occur on Wednesday, October 31st and your child can come to school in costume that day. We would ask, however, that no one wear masks on this special day so as not to add a scary element to what should be a fun day. Also, no ‘weapons’ can be brought to class as accessories, as per school policy. Watch for our classroom sign-up for treats and help with our Halloween games.
Finally, thanks again to all who have contributed snack or items for our classroom- it’s been fabulous! We REALLY appreciate all your support!
We have thoroughly enjoyed our first weeks at school and hope that your children have as well!!
